COLLINS –Brandon White was charged with first-degree manslaughter in the July 12 shooting that killed Anthony Chipman. White, 32, is a resident of Collins. He is being held at the Erie County Holding Center pending an arraignment.
The shooting happened at 14725 Bagdad Road, Lot 6, in Collins at 7:38 p.m. last night. Erie County Sheriff deputies arrived at the scene to find White in the doorway. Chipman, 46 of Gowanda, was inside and unresponsive. Gowanda Ambulance Service EMS personnel pronounced Chipman dead at the scene. Detectives and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit took over the scene.
A gun was located near the scene and is being evaluated to determine if it is the same gun used in the shooting. The medical examiner’s office has ruled a gunshot as the cause of death and the manner of death as a homicide.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation of this incident.
