Lane closure on 219 starts today

CONCORD—The New York State Department of Transportation announced a lane closure is scheduled to occur on a portion of the U.S. Route 219 Expressway to allow for highway maintenance.

The lane closure began on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at approximately 9 a.m. and motorists should expect to encounter a lane closure on U.S. Route 219 southbound between NY Route 39 and Peters Road. The closure is expected to last for approximately one week.

This work is weather-sensitive and could be delayed in the event of inclement weather.

Drivers are reminded fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
