SPRINGVILLE—From wedding dresses to rugs, Bird’s Cleaners is taking dirty laundry to new heights. The newly opened Main Street business is a drop off location that provides a number of dry cleaning and shirt laundering services.
The business offers services for specialty items including cleaning and preserving wedding dresses and gowns, leather, suede, furs, bedding, curtains, area rugs and other household items. Items are dropped off by customers, and taken to servicers for cleaning, then picked up by customers in Springville.
Located at 13 W. Main St., Bird’s Cleaners is owned by Nicole Frank. The business is located inside The Edge, Springville Crossing Church’s youth center when they are not using it. Kim Carrow, who formerly owned Main Street Cleaners, donated equipment to Frank, knowing Bird’s Cleaners would convert the youth center into a dual purpose space, creating an economic benefit for the church.
Since its opening on June 21, business for Bird’s Cleaners has been steady, with positive feedback coming from customers.
“It’s been pretty good actually … it’s picked up in the past week,” Frank said. “We’ve gotten quite a few people.”
With no other dry cleaning services in the Springville area, providing a new service to residents so they don’t need to travel as far is something Frank is excited to offer to the community.
“It’s the only dry cleaners in Springville and no others in about 20 miles … and it is a pick up, drop off,” she said.
Bird’s Cleaners is open Monday and Wednesday from 12 - 4 p.m., Friday from 12 - 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
