Respiratory Services of WNY to open in Springville

SPRINGVILLE—For more than 20 years, Respiratory Services of WNY has been selling a variety of medical equipment to those in need, and soon will be opening their doors in Springville.

Owner Michael McCartney opened the retail store in 1997, and the company has been providing medical and respiratory equipment to thousands of people throughout the Western New York and Rochester areas. Expected to open April 11, the South Cascade Drive location will be the fifth storefront, joining Arcade, Dunkirk, Cheektowaga and Henrietta.

Respiratory Services of WNY offers many different products including oxygen supplies, CPAP and BiPAP supplies, compression stockings, walkers, canes, lift chairs, scooters, diabetic shoes, hospital beds and urology supplies.

Following the close of Springcreek Pharmacy, Vice President of Sales Patti Capitani said they saw a need for this kind of business in Springville.

“Especially in the [Springville] area, we have a few people with us that are from Springville that are really in need of a home care company,” Capitani said. “[Respiratory Services of WNY] is big, but offers that hometown touch of taking care of folks and they really needed something in that area.”

McCartney, who is also a respiratory therapist by trade, has continued to take a big role in the business, working to make Respiratory Services of WNY the best experience for their patients needs.

“We are locally owned and operated,” Capitani said. “The owner is with us everyday, involved in every aspect of the business to understand it. So the things that we do and the decisions that we make, he is right here and understands the importance of taking care of the patients.”

Respiratory Services of WNY has continued to provide multiple products and services, despite cuts to insurances which has caused other companies to reduce their services.

“Even with insurance cuts, [McCartney] has gotten really creative so we can bring on more products and offset some of those insurance prices without having to suffer and take away from our service,” Capitani said. “I think ... the biggest difference between us and others is that when the insurance went through their cuts, a lot of people stopped the service they were providing and we kept that strong.”

Respiratory Services of WNY, Springville, will be opening in the Tops Plaza in the former Olympia Sports building. The anticipated opening date is April 11. For more information on Respiratory Services of WNY, visit respiratoryservices.com or call 683-6699.
