Eleanor M. Brown, 92, of Springville, passed away March 22, 2017 at Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home in Springville.
Eleanor was born in West Valley on Dec. 12, 1924 to the late Henry and Dorothy (nee Goodemote) Feldman. She married Bernard “Bus” Brown on Aug. 19, 1950.
Eleanor was a library and reading teacher’s assistant at Springville-Griffith Institute for more than 20 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of St. Aloysius Church in Springville, its Altar Society and Martha Committee. She loved flowers, gardening and going out to eat at various restaurants. She enjoyed spending winters in Arizona with her daughter, Bev, and spending the holidays with her family. She was a very social lady.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband; siblings Ellsworth Feldman, Raymond Feldman, Donald Feldman, Louis Feldman, Eunice Linsler, Marilyn Shaffner and Doris Digati.
Eleanor is survived by her children Bev (Don) Copoulos of Madison, Wis., Becky (Joe) Palone of Las Vegas, Nev. and Jerry “Buck” (Carol) Brown of Cheektowaga; brothers Gerald (Gertrude) Feldman and Clifford (Valerie) Feldman, both of West Valley and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held from St. Aloysius Church, Springville. Former parish priest, The Rev. Charles Zadora, officiated. Burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery in Springville.
Eleanor’s family would like to express a very kind thank-you to the staff at Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home for the care, kindness and love that they had given their mom. It is very much appreciated and does not go unnoticed.
