James “Jim” Walters, 78, of South Wales, formerly of Holland, passed away June 12, 2018 following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Jim was born in Buffalo on Feb. 8, 1940 to the late Joseph S. and Mary V. (nee Pitonack) Walters. He grew up in Holland and graduated from Holland Central School.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Jim was employed by Fisher Price in East Aurora and retired from KML in Cowlesville.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed gardening, model trains and bowling. In the late 1970s, he appeared on Bowling For Dollars.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a niece Theresa Lukowski Byrns; a great-niece Theresa Hintz and several aunts and uncles.
Jim is survived by a sister Elizabeth “Betty Jo” (Svend) Fredstrup of Chandler, Ariz.; three brothers Joseph Walters of South Wales, William “Bill” (Patty) Walters of South Wales and John (Janice) Walters of Howell, Mich.; a step-daughter Roberta Kunselman of Pennsylvania and her children and grandchild; nieces Crissi (John Hoffman) Lukowski of Delevan, Cheryl (Rob) DiLullo of Gilbert, Ariz. and Michelle (Mark) Strub of Springville; nephews John (Rebecca) Walters of Howell, Mich., Gary (Shelly) Walters of Fairmont, W.V. and Chris (Rhonda) Walters of Whitmore Lake, Mich. and several great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
