James T. Peters, 73, of Springville, passed away February 13, 2018 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo.
James was born in Rochester on May 12, 1944 to the late George and Alice (nee Durkee) Peters. He married Barbara Wangelin on June 19, 1965.
James graduated from Lima High School and attended the University at Buffalo and the State University of New York at Morrisville. He was a technician for National Fuel, volunteered at The Trading Post in Springville, enjoyed hunting in his younger years and loved trains. He was a member of the Southtowns Christian Center in Lake View.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two brothers, George and John Peters.
James is survived by his wife; children Carolyn (Neal) Snider of Mayville, Nancy Peters of Raleigh, N.C., Josh Peters of Buffalo and Sarah (Jeffrey) Whipple of Perrysburg; five grandchildren Troy Snider, Garrett Snider, Megan Snider, Gabby Whipple and JJ Whipple; a sister Patty Hammond of Canandaigua and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from the Southtowns Christian Center, 6619 Southwestern Blvd., Lake View. Burial was in Colden Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
