Jeffrey D. Raiber

Jeffrey D. Raiber, 65, of Springville, passed away August 7, 2018 in Springville. He was born in Buffalo on Oct. 5, 1952 to Marie (nee Arndt) Raiber Heitman and the late Douglas Raiber. He married Sandra Fox on Feb. 9, 1974.

Jeffrey graduated from Springville-Griffith Institute and was a member of St. Aloysius Church. He was a machinist for Sotek in Blasdell. In his retirement he worked at Springville Hardware. He enjoyed reading and playing solitaire but mostly loved the time spent with his grandchildren.

In addition to his father, Jeffrey was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Janet Krzes and siblings Larry, Dana, Candice Raiber and Leland Heitman.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife; mother Marie Heitman of Machias; son Brent (Kelly) Raiber of Springville; daughter Dr. Lisa (James) Alister of Meadville, Pa.; nine grandchildren Liam, Braeden, Declan, Finley, Rowan, Evan, Nicholas, Andrew and Jeremy; sister-in-law Barbara (Dennis) Pearce of Springville; sister Michelle (Lee) Duerr of Sardinia; sister-in-law Marg Raiber of East Concord and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Aloysius Church, 190 Franklin St., Springville. The Rev. Lawrence Cobel officiated.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Springville Volunteer Fire Department, 405 W. Main St., Springville.
