Letha F. Smith (nee Cobo), 90, of Springville, passed away October 3, 2017 at Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home.
Letha was born in Concord on Oct. 25, 1926 to the late Ernest and Luella (nee Ellis) Cobo.
Letha worked as a secretary for Ellis Bros. Insurance in Springville and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Springville. She was an avid quilter and a member of the Southtown Peacemakers Quilt Guild and taught Sunday School for Salem Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents, Letha was preceded in death by her husband LeVerne Smith; two sisters Esther Reed and her twin Lelia Kearney and a grandson Eric Balog.
Letha is survived by her daughter Linda (Larry) Balog of West Valley; a granddaughter Carissa (David) Chandler; great-grandchildren Nathan, Cara, Jenna and Travis Balog, Aliya Duchnick and Kylie and Claire Chandler and a great-great-granddaughter Lillianna Balog.
Friends may call Sunday, Oct. 8, from 4-7 p.m. at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville. A funeral service will be held Monday, Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. from Salem Lutheran Church, Main Street, Springville.
