Marva J. Engels-Dick of Crescent Drive in Arcade died Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital. She was 78.
Born on July 27, 1938 in Johnstown, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Marian Beard Sherman. On Sept. 28, 2009 in Springville, Marva married Donald Dick, who survives.
She was a sales associate for Wal-Mart in Springville.
Marva enjoyed ceramics, word search books and collecting angels and butterflies. She also enjoyed trips to the Adirondack Mountains with her friends, going to Pennsylvania to visit family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Marva was preceded in death by her children Karen Rupp and Daniel Dick; siblings Donna (Pete) Scherer and William Sherman; and grandson, Shane Wolfer.
In addition to her husband, Marva is survived by her children, Valerie (late Dennis) Wolfer of Arcade, Carla (Beth Dziekan) Klein of Yorkshire, Teresa (John) Board of Kentucky; her stepchildren, Laurie Dahl, Dodie Cartwright and Charleen Turner; her son-in-law, Thomas Rupp of Arcade; her sister, Sandra French of California; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Yorkshire on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 2 p.m.
