Ruth Margaret Eisenhut, 94, passed away February 13, 2018 at the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home in Springville. She was born on the family farm at the corner of Routes 39 and 219 on Jan. 22, 1924 to the late Milton and Zela (Nee Chesbro) Ferrin.
Ruth was a lifelong resident of Springville and spent most of her career at the Springville M&T Bank. She was assistant manager at the time of her retirement and was held in high regard for her considerate assistance to customers. After retirement she also worked for Concord Medical Group PC and Dr. Peter Ewing.
Ruth served on the board of directors of Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and the Children’s League (League for the Handicapped). She was a charter member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Springville and an elder in the Presbyterian Church.
Her smiling face will be missed by all who knew her.
Ruth is survived by her daughters Nancy Eisenhut and Pam (Bob) Stachowski; her darling nephew Patrick (Mary) Riley; numerous grand- and great-grand-nieces and nephews; beloved granddaughters Nicole (Darren) Stanleigh and Erin Stachowski. She cherished her great-grandchildren Zoe Grace Stanleigh and Joshua Owen Stanleigh.
It was Ruth’s wish that her body be donated to UB Medical School, so there will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. from the Presbyterian Church of Springville. The Rev. Donna K. Lewis will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Springville or the First Presbyterian Church of Gowanda.
