Letter to the Editor: Fiddle Fest Committee thanks community for support

Editor:

The Springville Country Music and Bluegrass Festival had beautiful weather, great music, energetic cloggers, historic demonstrators, tasty food trucks and interesting vendors and lots of visitors to the Springville Village center.

Chairperson Trudy Stanley thanks the many committee volunteers, the local sponsors and donors, the Concord Historic Society volunteers, the Boys Scouts and the Village of Springville and Town of Concord for making the Fiddle Fest an event that drew visitors from Ontario, Pennsylvania and towns and counties around Western New York. This year’s events featured 12 bands and featured the award-winning Creek Bend. The appeal of well-known bluegrass drew many visitors to Springville. We thank all our volunteers, supporters and partners. And musicians are already looking forward to next year!

This year’s winner of the banjo was Faye Buchanan. Meta Graesser won the Basket of Goodies. We owe a special thanks to the New York State Council of the Arts for the grant which matched our fundraising. Planning will begin for Fiddle Fest 2019 in January. Those interested in helping continuing and growing this event should contact Trudy by emailing fiddlefest716@gmail.com.
