Letter to the Editor: SGCEF appreciates community support

The Springville-Griffith Community Education Foundation, Inc., (SGCEF) would like to thank everyone for their generous sponsorship and involvement toward our success over the past 10 years. The SGCEF extends gratitude to this year’s Wine Tasting event volunteers, Terry Dormer, Elaine Krezmien, Sam and Jessica Johnston, Jon Shelly, Charles Weber, Jennifer Rumfola, Kellee and Ziggy Kucewicz, Tiffany Frazzini and spouses of board members as well as sponsors, food and auction items donors, The Springville Jazz Orchestra and Joe Wagner Band. This year’s grant recipient is Springville-Griffith Institute Technology & Engineering Department spearheaded by Jon Shelly.

SGCEF funds raised over the last 10 years, in excess of $300,000, have gone back into the community through grant programs to organizations, including the Concord Historical Society and Heritage Building, The Children's League, Mercy Flight of WNY, Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Boys and Girls Club of Springville, Springville Rails to Trails, Springville-Griffith School District plus many other organizations in our community.

I would like to thank the board members both past and present for their support with special recognition to Dr. Patrick Hurley, Don Feuz, Mike and Mary Hannon, Mary Irish and Dr. William Canavan. Thank you for your commitment to the community.

The SGCEF Board welcomes new members. Please contact Jennifer Weber @ if interested.
