Letter to the Editor: Why don’t we confront the truth

Editor:

Consider the last 10 years of mass murders: Parkland (17), Las Vegas (58), Dallas (5), Orlando (50), San Bernardino (14), Colorado Springs (3), Roseburg (10), Chattanooga (4), Charleston (9), Isla Vista (6), Fort Hood (3), Washington Naval Yard (12), Santa Monica (4), Newtown (20), Minneapolis (6), Oak Creek (6), Aurora (12), Oakland (7), Seal Beach (8), Tucson (6), Manchester (8), Fort Hood (13), Binghamton (13), Dekalb (5).

Virtually all of these were perpetrated by males that grew up in a fatherless home.

Further truths regarding fatherless homes: 63 percent of youth suicides, 90 percent of homeless and runaway youth, 85 percent of the children that display behavioral disorders, 80 percent of rapists with anger problems, 71 percent of high school dropouts, 75 percent of adolescent patients in chemical abuse centers, 85 percent of youths in prison, etc.

And guns are the problem? Unlikely.

These devastating realities have been wrought over the past two generations as the progressive degradation movement blossomed throughout our culture. Those with grievances might ponder what their own behaviors may have contributed.

Ladies: marry carefully, then stick together. Men: be home-loving first and foremost. Both: Have children, value them deeply and eat dinner together. All: Forgive and nurture – never let the sun set on anger.

If we do these things, mass murders will decrease measurably.
