HOUGHTON—The Springville-Griffith Institute boys and girls indoor track team set seven new school records while competing at Houghton College during the past two weeks.

Five of those records were set Jan. 27 with Payton Rowe setting two for the girls team. She set a 55 meter hurdles school record at 9.27 and a 300 meter dash school record at 43.92 seconds.

The other three school records came in relay events with the boys team setting two and the girls team one.

The trio of Topher Elkins, Nick Abdo and Jarod Reese were part of both boys record-setting relays. They were joined in the 4x200 meter relay by Seth Dash with a school record time of 1:39.11 and by Brett Russell in the 4x800 meter relay with a school record time of 8:53.24.

The foursome of Evelyn Smith, Chloe Chamberlain, Allison Lavanture and Rowe set the girls school record in the 4x200 meter relay at 1:55.13.

The week before, one boys individual school record and one boys relay school record were set on Jan. 20.

Abdo recorded a new school record time of 1:26.23 in the 600 meter dash, and then joined Elkins, Reese and Dash in setting a new school record in the 4x400 meter relay at 3:41.27.
