SPRINGVILLE—The Springville-Griffith Institute boys swimming team beat Lakeshore 125-41 Dec. 21.
The team took first place in 11 events that were highlighted by nine individual wins and a pair of relay wins.
Dominic Hartenstein led the way with a pair of individual wins and was also a part of one of the relay victories. Hartenstein captured the 50 yard freestyle (25.65) and the 100 yard freestyle (55.65) and then joined Zach Hughey, Elliot Emley and Jon Boberg in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a winning time of 1:44.00.
Also with a pair of wins was Eric Schweickert in the 200 yard freestyle (2:19.37) and the 100 yard backstroke (1:12.74).
The boys team produced five other individual winners that included: Boberg (200 yard individual medley, 2:27.36), Hughey (100 yard butterfly, 1:17.43), Felipe Rodriguez (500 yard freestyle, 6:14.32), Blaze Schelble (100 yard breaststroke, 1:19.90) and diver Wyatt Fuller, who scored 233.10 points from the board.
The other relay win came at the 200 yard medley with Hughey, Schelble, Boberg and Emley recording a winning time of 1:58.55.
The team also registered seven second-place individual finishes. Dakota Schelble and Austin Yetter each recorded a pair of second-place finishes to lead the way. Schelbe was second in the 200 yard freestyle and in diving competition, while Yetter took second in the 100 yard breaststroke and the 500 yard freestyle.
Other second-place finishers included: Boberg (100 yard freestyle), Emley (50 yard freestyle) and Connor Hughey in the 100 yard backstroke.
The team next travels to Tonawanda for a 5 p.m. meet Jan. 5.
