Hebdon to be enshrined in CCSHOF

WEST VALLEY—Jim Hebdon will be Inducted into the 16th annual Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame on April 7 at a banquet at the Little Valley Legion starting at 6 p.m.

Hebdon is the lone West Valley representative and was a standout athlete in the late 1970s and early 1980s. His athletic efforts allowed him to become just one of 11 individual West Valley Athletics Hall of Fame members.

Hebdon competed in football, basketball and track. He was named an All-Star on the gridiron, earned MVP recognition in basketball and was one of two athletes to compete in state competition for the now-defunct 33 meter hurdles.

This year’s other inductees include: Mike Wilber, Allegany-Limestone; Todd Conley, Randolph; Steve Brundage, Salamanca; Chuck Struble, Hinsdale; Jana Landahl, Pioneer; Dave Waugh, Portville, posthumously; Dick Stitzel, Gowanda; Bob Ring, Olean; Harley Butler, Franklinville; Tim Miller, Cattaraugus-Little Valley; Joseph Delity, Ellicottville, posthumously; Adam Delity, Ellicottville and Wally Holland, Ellicottville.

A limited number of tickets at $25 are still available for the event. All tickets must be reserved by calling Mark Benton at 532-4053 or email hidibenton@aol.com.
