BROCKPORT—A trio of Springville runners advance to the United States of America Track and Field Junior Olympic Track and Field Regional Championships following mid-June performances at the College at Brockport.
Corrin Sacilowski, Marinna Heichberger and Brooke Walker all raked up top finishes at the Niagara Competition.
Though Sacilowski competed in the 17-18 division, the future looks bright for S-GI girls track with the other two making a mark in the 13-14 division.
Heichberger set personal records in finishing first in both the shot put and the discus throw in the 13-14 division. Her shot put throw was recorded at 9.38 meters (30-feet-9.25), while her discus toss was at 22.4 meters (73-feet-6).
Walker, who also competed in the 13-14 division, finished second in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 2.75 (9-feet-0.25) behind Laura Reigle’s vault of 3.35 meters (11-feet). Like Heichberger, it was also a personal record, according to athletic.net.
Sacilowski took the 3,000 meter racewalk with a first-place finish time of 18:37.53.
The USATF Junior Olympic Track and Field Region 2 Championships begin July 12 and end July 15 and are at the College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ.
