SPRINGVILLE – The St. Aloysius varsity basketball team is off to the best season in 4 years, with a 3-1 record. The team defeated Northern Chautauqua Catholic School (NCCS) 38-30 Jan. 23. Smaller than years past, the team has five eighth graders and one seventh grader. Leading the team in scoring is Joshua Connors with an average of 16 points per game in the last four games.
“[Joshua] is a great leader on and off the court,” head coach Shawn Connors said. “I’m proud to have coached him for the last four years.”
Adding to the good season are Liam Smith and Chris Jozwiak, who are both averaging six points per game. Ben Lux, Josh Tartick and Chancellor Winter have all helped the team on defense.
