BOSTON—Kevin Steinmetz, 36, of Colden, was arrested after his vehicle rear ended an Erie County Highway plow truck on Cole Road in the Town of Boston on April 8 at approximately 5:05 a.m.
Erie County dispatchers received a call from a county highway superintendent regarding the crash. While speaking with Steinmetz, a deputy observed signs of intoxication and the odor of alcohol. Steinmetz failed multiple administered standard field sobriety tests as well as registering an initial blood alcohol content level above the legal limit.
Steinmetz was charged with operating a vehicle with a BAC of .08 or higher, DWI, following too close and speeding. After processing, Steinmetz was released to a third party.
