CONCORD—Anthony Weber, 31, of Attica was charged with criminal possession of a firearm after a traffic stop on Route 219, on April 1.
An Erie County Sheriff’s deputy stopped Weber for vehicle and traffic violations in the Town of Concord. During the stop, the deputy requested the driver to exit the vehicle and when asked if there were any weapons in the vehicle, Weber stated he had a pistol in a pocket. The deputy could not find any record of the subject having a pistol permit and detained him.
The deputy secured the handgun, and during a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a quantity of cocaine and marijuana.
Weber was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a controlled substance, marijuana possession and a vehicle and traffic violation. He was processed and later released.
