Police Report: July 5, 2018

Friday, June 22

Concord – Andrew P. Salzler, 36, of Springville was found to be driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop on the southbound 219 Expressway. He was found to be in possession of a crack pipe. He was charged with AUO in the third degree as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Salzler was also cited for two vehicle and traffic law violations. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Concord – Timothy A. Phinney, 44, of Arcade was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration following a traffic stop on Randall Drive. He was ticketed and released.

Sardinia – Kevin L. Bacon, 33, of Bolivar was found to be driving with a suspended learner’s permit only following a traffic stop on Olean Road. He was charged with AUO in the third degree as well as unlicensed operation. Bacon was ticketed and released. The vehicle was towed.


Saturday, June 23

Concord – At approximately 12:38 a.m., NYSP responded to a rollover accident on Boston-Springville Road. Jeremy Zabawa, 24, of Boston, stated he swerved to avoid a deer and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times striking an unoccupied parked car, according to police. Further investigation revealed Zabawa was allegedly intoxicated. He was transported to ECMC in Buffalo where he reportedly refused a chemical test. Subsequently, Zabawa was charged with DWI and is to return to the Town of Concord Court on July 23.


Monday, July 25

Colden – The highway department responded to a report of a sinkhole on Lewis Road.


Tuesday, June 26

Boston – At approximately 4:47 p.m., NYSP responded to a septic truck rollover accident on Zimmerman Road. Geoffrey Chandler, 33, of Orchard Park reportedly lost control of the tanker, left the roadway and rolled over coming to a rest on a private lawn. Further investigation revealed Chandler was allegedly intoxicated. Subsequently, he was charged with aggravated DWI. Chandler was transported to the Boston Barracks where he reportedly provided a breath sample recording a BAC of .25 percent. He was processed and released on tickets returnable to the Town of Boston Court.

Boston – A Canadian driver, Mark A. McLaughlin, 30, of Brampton, Ontario, was charged with aggravated DWI following a traffic stop on Boston State Road after he was observed traveling 95 MPH on the southbound 219 Expressway. His BAC was reported to be .18 percent. McLaughlin was taken to the Holding Center in lieu of $100 bail.

Concord – A person applying for an online loan was asked to buy iTunes and Google Play gift cards and send a person in California pictures of the cards. The person also sent $450 to an unknown person in Canada via Western Union. The person lost almost $4,000.

Springville – A driver from Arcade who was the subject of a traffic stop on East Main Street was said to be disruptive and would not accept the ticket. It was left on the dashboard.


Wednesday, June 27

Boston – At approximately 2:55 p.m., Tiffany L. Covert, 32, of Eden, was charged with burglary in the second degree: a dwelling and petit larceny for an incident originally reported on June 13, 2018. She was issued an appearance ticket.

Boston – A traffic stop on the southbound 219 Expressway resulted in the arrest of the driver, Patrick Panaro, 54, of Boston, who was found to be driving with a revoked non-driver ID only. He was charged with AUO in the second degree and two other vehicle and traffic violations. Panaro was ticketed and released.

Concord – The ECSO assisted State Police with a car versus utility pole injury accident on Genesee Road in which the driver had to be extricated. The road was closed for several hours as NYSEG had to replace the pole.

Concord – Tammy J. Jones, 56, of Delevan was charged with moving from the lane unsafely and DWI: first offense just before 12:30 a.m. on Genesee Road.

Springville – The ECSO is following up on a larceny from the high school of three lithium rechargeable batteries valued at approximately $300.


Thursday, June 28

Boston – Police investigated a two-car injury accident on Taylor Road in which one of the occupants was taken to the hospital for treatment of an arm injury.


Friday, June 29

Boston – At approximately 9:50 p.m., Shane O. Lindquist, 19, of Allegany was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, UPM, a controlled substance in non-original container, operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate and a speed violation. He was issued an appearance ticket.
