Police Report, June 14, 2018

Friday, June 1

Springville – Police stopped a vehicle that apparently failed to yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The driver, George M. Englehardt, 31, of Franklinville, was found to have a suspended non-driver ID only with multiple suspensions. He was issued three uniform traffic tickets and released to a third party. A passenger in the vehicle, Brandi L. Craig, 27, of Chaffee, was found to be the subject of an outstanding bench warrant from the ECSO. She was taken to the Holding Center.

 

Saturday, June 2

Concord – A vehicle stopped for traveling 101 MPH on the southbound 219 Expressway resulted in issues for the driver and a passenger. Dominic L. Lusthaus, 18, of Tonawanda, the driver was found to be in possession of alcohol and marijuana. Lusthaus was charged with four vehicle and traffic law violations, as well as UPM and possession of an alcoholic beverage by a person under the age of 21. A passenger (who was not identified by police), was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the third degree. Both were released on appearance tickets.

Sardinia – A traffic stop on Olean Road resulted in the arrest of the driver, Lester A. Mages, 68, of Belfast who was found to be driving while intoxicated after reportedly failing standard field sobriety tests. Mages, whose BAC was reported to be .13 percent, was released to a third party after being ticketed.

Springville – Evan M. Black, 22, of East Concord was found to have a revoked non-driver ID only following a traffic stop on West Main Street. He was charged with AUO in the second degree and was issued two tickets and released. A passenger, who was also the registered owner, Samantha R. Ryan, 22, of Sardinia, was found to be the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant from the CCSO. She was turned over to Cattaraugus County deputies.

 

Sunday, June 3

Springville – State Police from Great Valley turned over a male, Bobby R. Calhoun, 26, of Buffalo, who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant from the ECSO. He was taken to the Holding Center pending arraignment.

Springville – A 15-year-old male individual was found to be in possession of a kung fu throwing star while at Heritage Park and was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. He was released to a family member on a juvenile appearance ticket.

 

Monday, June 4

Concord – A vehicle that was fully involved at a residence on Brown Hill Road was deemed a total loss. Boston Fire extinguished the fire. There was no word on the cause.

Sardinia – Deborah R. Perrington, 24, of Delevan was charged with UPM following a traffic stop on Creek Road. She was released on an appearance ticket.

 

Tuesday, June 5

Sardinia – A car versus deer accident on Olean Road resulted in heavy damage to the driver’s side front, but the vehicle was drivable. The status of the deer was not reported. A driver who struck a deer on Genesee Road several hours later was not as lucky, as their vehicle had to be towed. The deer in this incident was said to have run off into a field.

 

Wednesday, June 6

Concord – Patrol investigating a suspicious vehicle in Scoby Hill Park around 4 a.m. discovered Holly C. Connors, 37, of Springville, allegedly smoking marijuana. Reportedly, Connors initially gave police a false name. When she was informed she was being placed under arrest, she reportedly began to fight with officers. Connors was subsequently charged with false impersonation, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, disorderly conduct and trespassing. She was taken to the Holding Center pending arraignment. A male passenger was given a courtesy ride home.

Sardinia – A driver reported one of her tires came off her vehicle and went through the front door of a residence on Olean Road, shattering the door. The tire was removed from the residence by NYSP. No injuries were reported, as the residents did not appear to be home at the time.

Springville – Mark J. Trala, 54, of West Valley was found to be in possession of a forged NYS inspection sticker following a traffic stop at McDonald’s. He was issued three uniform traffic tickets and released.

Springville – A motorcyclist hit a pothole at Tim Horton’s and tipped his bike over. The driver declined first aid and minor damage was reported to the motorcycle.

 

Thursday, June 7

Boston – Michael A. Burdic, 52, of Springville was found to be driving with a revoked non-driver ID only following a traffic stop on Boston State Road. Burdic was charged with AUO in the second degree as well as two other vehicle and traffic violations. A female passenger in the vehicle was charged with facilitating AUO of a motor vehicle.

Boston – A generator, valued at $900, was taken from a screened-in porch of a residence on Hickory Drive sometime within the past two days.

Springville – A deer jumped through a first floor window of the apartment complex on North Buffalo Street. The DEC was notified but the deer succumbed to blood loss approximately 18 minutes later and they were cancelled. The property manager and maintenance were on the scene. The Highway Department was notified to remove the deer.
