Sunday, April 2

Sardinia – Erie County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a two-car injury accident on Genesee Road. One of the drivers was taken to the hospital for a neck injury.  

Tuesday, April 4

Sardinia – A caller reported that a person had cut wires to her surveillance system in several places. Damage was estimated to be $100 and a report was completed.

Wednesday, April 5

Springville – Erie County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle crash on the Route 219 extension at W. Main Street in the Village around 5:15 p.m. During their investigation, deputies reportedly observed signs of intoxication and impairment and transported Scott Weaver, 45, of Springville, to the Springville Substation. While at the substation deputies administered field sobriety tests and a Drug Recognition Expert evaluated the subject. Following the evaluation it was determined that Weaver was impaired by narcotics and was charged with DWI-drugs. Additionally, Weaver was charged with four vehicle and traffic violations. He was released to a sober third party.  

Thursday, April 6

Sardinia – Erie County Sheriff’s investigated a two-car injury accident on Olean Road. One of the drivers was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Both vehicles were towed.

Saturday, April 8

Boston – Darrin Lichy, 27, of Salamanca, was arrested after a sheriff’s deputy stopped his vehicle for equipment violations on Route 219 near Rice Road 8 at 1:25 a.m. The deputy discovered that Lichy’s driver’s license had three suspension. A search of the vehicle discovered one gram of crack cocaine, which Lichy admitted was his. Lichy was arrested and charged with a felony count of criminal possession of cocaine, aggravated unlicensed operation and two equipment violations. Lichy was held at the Erie County Holding Center and later released on $300 bail.

Sunday, April 9

Sardinia – Mark Franz, 47, of Arcade, was arrested at 7:26 p.m. following a traffic stop on Creek Road. An investigation revealed the driver’s license was revoked for a previous alcohol-related conviction, as well as several violations. During a search of the vehicle, Suboxone was discovered. Franz was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation and three separate vehicle and traffic violations. He was released on appearance tickets for Sardinia Town Court.

Springville – Donald Currie Jr., 51, of Ashford, and Elaine Monnin, 36, of Cattaraugus, were arrested 9:58 p.m., after a sheriff’s deputy stopped Currie’s vehicle on South Cascade Drive for vehicle and traffic violations. While interviewing Currie, the deputy observed a straw with white residue and a search of the vehicle discovered another straw with residue, hydrocodone and Xanax pills and cocaine. Currie was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance not in the original container, and vehicle and traffic violations. Monnin was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and possessing a controlled substance not in the original container. Both individuals were released on appearance tickets for Springville Village Court.

Collins – Christian Delany, 35, of Collins was arrested after a sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle lose control and rollover into a field on Taylor Hollow Road at 1:29 a.m. Delany exited the vehicle and was examined by EMS personnel. While speaking with Delany, the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol and a breath test indicated a blood alcohol content level nearly twice the legal limit. Delany was arrested and charged with DWI, reckless driving and five vehicle and traffic violations. He refused additional medical treatment and was released to a sober third party.
