SPRINGVILLE— Erie County Sheriff's deputies responded to an alleged armed male at the Country Fair gas station around 10:20 p.m. Sunday.
According to the ECSO, a man entered the South Cascade Drive store with a sawed-off shotgun, then confronted deputies after he exited the building. Multiple police commands were given to drop the gun, which the subject refused as he continued advancing toward the deputies. The deputies discharged their service pistols, hitting the armed subject, according to the ECSO.
The male discharged his weapon, the Sheriff's Office said.
The alleged shooter was taken to Erie County Medical Center and underwent surgery. He is expected to survive.
None of the Country Fair employees or the roughly 12 customers were hurt. Country Fair reopened this morning. An investigation is ongoing.
