SPRINGVILLE – Authorities are searching the Springville and Zoar Valley areas for Rudy Ray Rockett, who was last seen in Niagara County, Niagara County Undersheriff Michael Filicetti said.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, Gowanda Police Department, Department of Environmental Conservation and the Niagara Frontier Search and Rescue Team are conducting the search.
Rockett was last seen in the Ransomville area on April 29 at approximately 4 p.m. He was scheduled to fly out of Buffalo Niagara International Airport at 6:30 p.m., but did not show up for his flight, Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Rockett’s stepson Gregory Roy was arrested April 29 for criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. An investigation involving Roy is ongoing, Filicetti said.
Rockett is described as a balding white male, approximately 6-foot-1-inch and 255 pounds.
