SPRINGVILLE—Michael Cook, 33, of North Tonawanda was arrested on Route 219 Feb. 20 after stealing $1,100 in electronics from the Springville Walmart.
Erie County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched after the merchant’s loss prevention personnel observed a male leaving the parking lot after not paying for a 60 inch television and two security camera systems.
At approximately 3 p.m., the deputy stopped a vehicle traveling northbound on Route 219 which matched the description given by store personnel. The driver also matched the description given by the store employees.
The deputy’s investigation resulted in the arrest of Cook, who was charged with a felony count of grand larceny and was held at the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment in Springville Village Court.
