SARDINIA—Matthew Solomon, 33, of Tonawanda, and James Thaler, 41, of Buffalo were arrested Oct. 23 following an investigation into multiple larcenies at a Sardinia farmers’ market.
The defendants were caught on surveillance cameras taking cash and merchandise over a several day period. On Oct. 20, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office released screen captured from the surveillance recordings and sought the public’s help in identifying the subjects.
After receiving numerous tips from the public, detectives were able to arrest the subjects.
Solomon was charged with two counts of petit larceny and two counts of criminal trespass, both misdemeanors, and was held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.
Thaler was charged with multiple misdemeanors which include two counts of petit larceny, two counts of criminal trespass and one count of criminal mischief. He posted $250 bail and was released from the Holding Center.
